Qualifications


 Drew Peterson, JD, has been a practicing Family Mediator since 1987, and is an Advanced Family Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the predominant mediation professional organization in the United States. 

He was formerly an Approved Consultant for the Academy of Family Mediators, until that designation was discontinued.   Born in St. Peter, Minnesota, he graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College (BA 1988) and the University of Minnesota Law School (JD 1972). He has been admitted to practice law in front of, the following courts: Minnesota Supreme Court; United States District Court for the District of Minnesota; United States Court of Claims; Alaska Supreme Court; United States District Court for the District of Alaska; Ninth Circuit United States Court of Appeals; United States Supreme Court. Drew is not admitted to practice law in Colorado or Arizona, and limits his practice in those states to mediation only.

        Drew was formerly the Program Head of the legal studies programs at Charter College in Anchorage, Alaska. He is also the owner and principal trainer for Wingspan Training and Consulting.

        Drew has received mediation training from the Lemmon Mediation Institute, the Erickson Mediation Institute, CDR Associates, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.  He has been published on mediation topics in numerous publications, including the Mediation Quarterly, Case and Comment, SPIDR News, AFM News, the Anchorage Daily News., and the Alaska Bar Rag.
